OUR STORY
A studio built from questions, care, and the belief that better work should never be rushed.
IT STARTED WITH A QUESTION
Before Hóla Hair Studio had its own space, it began with Gian Paul behind one chair in a rented suite, a growing community of clients, and a habit of asking questions.
Why is this done this way?
Years of learning from different educators taught him that technique matters, but so does the judgment behind it. Some methods had a clear purpose. Others were repeated simply because they were familiar.
Hóla grew from the decision to keep what served the client, question what did not, and build every service with intention.
MORE THAN OPENING A SALON
The goal was never simply to have a larger space. It was to create a studio where clients could feel the difference in how their time, comfort, and hair were treated.
Hair health would come before shortcuts. Consultations would be real conversations. Products and equipment would earn their place. Appointments would be scheduled with enough time to stay present throughout the service.
When we found our South Tampa space, we rebuilt it decision by decision. The layout, shampoo area, lighting, equipment, and smallest details were considered not only for how the studio would look, but for how each client would move through it and feel while there.
The experience begins long before the first foil is placed or the first cut begins.
WHY WE CHOSE THE NAME HÓLA
Our name comes from the Spanish word hola, meaning hello. To us, it represents more than a greeting.
Hello is a small word, but it asks something important of us: pause, acknowledge, and be present.
That idea became part of the foundation of the studio. Whether someone visits once a year or every six weeks, we want them to feel recognized, listened to, and cared for, never processed.
EVERY STEP HAS A PURPOSE
As Hóla took shape, one question continued to guide the studio: What serves the client best?
That question shapes how we schedule appointments, build consultations, select products, invest in equipment, and refine each service on our menu. It is also why we stay present while the hair is processing and adjust the plan based on how it responds.
Some details may seem small on their own. The time reserved for a consultation, the way the shampoo area is prepared, the treatment selected for the hair, or the extra moment spent checking a section all contribute to the final experience.
For us, luxury is not defined by appearance alone. It is felt in consistency, thoughtfulness, comfort, and the confidence that every step exists for a reason.
STILL LEARNING, ALWAYS IMPROVING
Hóla was built through learning, and it continues to evolve the same way.
We regularly evaluate our techniques, products, equipment, and systems. When a better approach can support healthier hair, improve comfort, or create a more thoughtful experience, we study it, test it, and adapt carefully.
Improvement is not about following every trend. It is about becoming more precise in how we care for people and their hair.
THE PERSON BEHIND THE CHAIR

GROWING WITH INTENTION
Hóla Hair Studio is still growing, and so is the vision behind it.
Today, the studio also shares its space with PolyDerm, Paulina's independent skincare practice. The two brands remain distinct, but they are connected by the same standards: thoughtful consultations, honest education, personalized care, and time protected for the client.
As our team, services, and future spaces evolve, the goal is not growth at the expense of what makes the experience personal. It is to build carefully enough that the same level of care can continue at every stage.
No matter where Hóla goes, the foundation will remain the same. Healthy hair deserves patience. Great work should not be rushed. Every person who walks through our doors deserves to feel genuinely cared for.
